During the course, you will learn the basic principles of scuba diving, including how to use the equipment, how to communicate with other divers, and how to safely navigate underwater. You will also learn about diving physiology, the environment, and dive planning.
The course consists of three main parts: academics, confined water training, and open water dives.
In the academic’s portion, you will learn about the theory of scuba diving through a variety of methods, including online learning, videos, and in-person sessions with a PADI instructor. You will also learn about the equipment and how to use it properly.
During the confined water training, you will practice diving skills in a controlled environment, such as a swimming pool or a sheltered body of water. This is where you will get comfortable with the equipment and learn how to use it effectively.
Finally, the open water dives are an opportunity for you to put your newly acquired skills into practice and explore the underwater world. You will complete four open water dives, which will be supervised by a PADI instructor. These dives may take place at a local dive site or at a destination of your choice.
The PADI Open Water Course is a fun and exciting way to learn how to scuba dive and discover the beauty of the underwater world. With the skills and knowledge you gain, you will be able to dive confidently and safely with a buddy anywhere in the world.
